Every election cycle, it is said that this is the most important election of our lifetimes. And it’s said every year because it’s true every year. Our democracy is under threat. Pennsylvania’s citizens represent a wide range of incomes, cultures, political affiliations, and demographics. Given the importance of Pennsylvania to our national political landscape, we must explore new ways to engage people who have often been left out from voting.
In 2024, we are a partner of the National Low Income Housing Coalition in a national evaluation of voter activities. To date, 47 organizations have joined the initiative, more than double the number of partners we have had in the past.
We will support your efforts to register and mobilize voters by providing:
➢ Technical support to you and other staff
➢ Information on changes in voter laws and regular communication on election dates
➢ One on one support to help build out your organization’s voter engagement plan
➢ Materials, custom QR codes, and access to the online registration tool, Turbovotes
➢ Stipends to some organizations
➢ Your organization in the outcomes analysis and highlight the work you are doing
➢ Who Can Participate | We seek nonprofit organizations, service providers, housing authorities, property managers and others that are directly in contact with lower income households.
➢ Engaging in non-partisan voter engagement involves promoting civic participation without endorsing any specific political party or candidate. It focuses on providing unbiased information, encouraging voter registration, and fostering a democratic process that empowers individuals to make informed choices based on their values and beliefs.
