Housing Alliance on the End on Rent Relief

Rent relief will end within months, and Allegheny County Housing Court wants to avoid mass displacement

Eviction filings in Pennsylvania spiked in the latter part of 2021 when federal moratoriums were lifted, but the number of families at risk of being put out of their homes last year was still lower than it was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania.

A recent analysis of eviction filings in Pennsylvania by the state housing agency found 66,193 eviction cases were filed in 2021 compared to 116,287 cases filed in 2019. Read the full article here.
