It is our vision that a home will be within reach for all Pennsylvanians.
OUR MISSION
The Housing Alliance is a statewide coalition working to provide leadership and a common voice for policies, practices, and resources to ensure that all Pennsylvanians, especially those with low incomes, have access to safe, decent and affordable homes.
We promote common-sense solutions to balance Pennsylvania’s housing market and increase the supply of safe, decent homes for low-income people.

OUR APPROACH
We engage both people with lived experience and those providing direct assistance (including nonprofits, local government, housing developers and providers, and service providers) what needs to be in place to address housing inequities that are preventing us all from creating scalable solutions.
We then design and advocate for policies and promote program strategies to address these systemic barriers that perpetuate inequities in achieving housing affordability.
We determine our priorities by answering the following questions:
- What priorities reflect the greatest need across the state?
- What can we achieve in a relatively short period of time to ensure change is made even if incrementally? And specifically, what policy changes can we propose that are likely to be agreed to by legislators in the current policy environment relatively soon?
- What policy changes may take a longer time but are important enough to pursue as a multi-year initiative?
- What program strategies will make local programs more available and accessible to those seeking direct assistance?
