October 2025 | Legislative Update
| State Legislative Update – No New News on the State Budget; Check Out Our Website for Status of Other State Bills Our state budget update unfortunately has been the same each month since June – there continues to be no publicly available or reliable information on the status of finalizing the state budget. On other non budget related legislative priorities, please visit our policy and advocacy page for the status of bills we are monitoring. As of our publication date on October 28th, the state budget remains unfinished. Although the state constitution sets a June 30 deadline, that date is often missed—and this year is no exception. Our legislative update from the end of June, outlining what we hope to see in the final budget, remains up to date. |
| Check Out Some Helpful Resources on the Federal Government Shutdown On October 1st, the federal government entered a partial shutdown after congressional leaders and the White House failed to reach an agreement on spending. | Stories that Shape Our Advocacy Behind every policy and program are real people whose lives are deeply impacted by housing and services. As part of our federal advocacy efforts, we’ve been collecting stories that capture the human impact of these programs—and sharing them with members of Congress to make the case for continued housing investments. You can read the stories we’ve gathered here. If you or someone you know has a story to share, we’d love to hear from you!
