Webinar: Protecting Housing and Homelessness Programs: Federal Updates and Action
Presented on Tuesday, July 1st 2025.
Webinar Description:
On May 30, President Trump released his full Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Budget Request proposing a historic 44% cut to HUD’s vital affordable housing, homelessness, and community development programs, and changes to rental and homelessness assistance that would leave more families struggling to afford rent, and at a time homelessness is on the rise.
The good news is that the budget is far from being passed. The president’s budget request is a step in the annual appropriations process and represents the President and his administration’s priorities, but it is only Congress that has the power to allocate federal funding.
Ultimately, it will be up to members of Congress to decide how to fund vital affordable housing and homelessness assistance programs in the coming fiscal year, so we need to educate them on the solutions that we know work.
Join us for the latest updates from Capitol Hill and what everyone can be doing to ensure our members in Congress will protect the vital affordable housing, homelessness and community development programs that help Pennsylvanians every day have a place to call home.
