Opioid use and related deaths have reached epidemic levels in the state of Pennsylvania. More people die from a drug overdose than a car crash. Ten Pennsylvanians die every day from a drug overdose; there were over 3,500 deaths in 2015 alone. This crisis does not discriminate and affects people of all races and socio-economic backgrounds. Governor Wolf has made tackling this issue a priority and has directed all state agencies to prioritize strategies to combat the opioid abuse epidemic that is affecting every community in the Commonwealth.
The webinar provides facts about the epidemic in PA, the Centers of Excellence and innovative approaches to treatment and housing.
