State Sen. Scott Martin will host a public meeting with his state legislative colleagues next week in Lancaster to discuss blight and abandonment.

The issue of abandoned and deteriorating buildings is not only a problem in cities, “but one that affects the boroughs and small towns all across Lancaster County,” Martin, of Martic Township, said in a statement.

Sen. David Argall, a Berks County Republican, chairs the state Senate Majority Policy Committee, which will meet at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, in the Lancaster City Council Chambers, 120 N. Duke St.

The meeting is open to the public, according to Martin’s office.
