Our democracy is challenged by wide gaps in voter participation tied to income, age, racial disparity and other factors. Nonprofit organizations are poised to play a significant role in narrowing these participation gaps.
Through our PA Votes civic engagement initiative, the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania has recruited 23 nonprofit organizations from across the state to partner with us in non-partisan voter engagement work with Nonprofit VOTE. These non-profit partner sites will engage voters through registering new voters, updating existing registrations, sharing information about how to apply for mail in ballots and collecting pledges from voters committing to vote.
PA Votes’ goal is to collect 4,000 new voter contacts across the state leading up to Pennsylvania’s October 19 voter registration deadline and the November 3 general election. And you can join PA Votes by using the links on this page to encourage our clients, staff and others in your network to register to vote, apply for mail in ballot and sign up to receive a voting reminder.
Nonprofit VOTE partners with America’s nonprofits to help the people they serve participate and vote. You can join their effort by becoming a National Voter Registration Day partner.
