Who We Are and What We Do

The Housing Alliance of PA convenes the people, organizations, government staff and others who recognize that a safe, stable home of one’s own is a basic need that should be available to all.

We take on the big systemic challenges that would allow those that are delivering housing assistance programs at the local level to provide more people with assistance to access affordable housing.

We:

-analyze local, state, and federal policy barriers and propose changes;
-advocate for increased funding and more effective public policy;
-research and promote smart practices at the local level (since more funding is a big need but not always the only answer);
-convene and engage the organizations and local governments that are delivering direct housing assistance programs and
-listen to and engage those with experience of housing instability and homelessness for their policy and program recommendations

We all need a safe and decent place to call home.

A home is foundational to accessing quality jobs, education opportunities, maintaining good health, and has the power to break the cycle of poverty.
