As we reported earlier this month, HUD and the Treasury Department are seeking public comment on a series of questions on the future of housing finance. While the majority of attention will focus on the future of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the FHLBanks will also be a part of the discussion. Please help weigh in on FHLBank's support for affordable housing. FHLBank Pittsburgh has prepared two draft letters that housing organizations may use as templates for their comments. Download the sample letters via the link at the end of this article. Please feel free to add your own perspective to the letter. The deadline for comment is July 21, 2010. Interested stakeholders can either send the comments/letter in on their own, at http://www.regulations.gov/search/Regs/home.html#submitComment?R=0900006480b0992a OR they can send them to FHLBank Pittburgh's Bill Miller at bill.miller@fhlb-pgh.com and he will forward them.
