Date Posted : January 14, 2010 |
A permanent revenue stream for the National Housing Trust Fund is still up in the air. The time to secure funding for 2010 is RIGHT NOW.
Please contact your senators TODAY and ask them to sign on to Senator Merkley’s (D-OR) letter to the President requesting that the Administration’s FY 2011 proposed budget include $1 billion for the National Housing Trust Fund. The letter (attached) also urges the President’s FY 2011 budget to expand funding for new vouchers and to fund technical assistance for tenant groups and nonprofits in order to facilitate preservation of affordable housing.
Friday, January 15 is the deadline for your senators’ to sign.
To sign on, your senators’ staff should contact Will White in Sen. Merkley’s office, will_white@merkley.senate.gov, or 202.224.3753.
